Get more stability when sliding a shipping container across a yard or onto a car carrier with the new and improved ITI XL Crossmember Skate. This updated skate is 1.25" longer and nearly 2" wider than the original, giving the operator more control when moving a container by its crossmembers.
This slick skate measures 13"L x 5.375"W x 4.25"T and, like the original, features a 4.5" opening to cradle a standard crossmember support on a shipping container. Unlike the original, this version of the skate does not include a recessed hole in the pocket. The overall depth of the cutout is 1.625", more than enough surface area to grip the crossmember.
Stronger than wood and superior to other competitive products, this oversized crossmember skate is beveled on each end to help traverse uneven surfaces and transitions, like gravel to asphalt and the lip of a rollback deck. Like all ITI products, this skate is made from extruded polymeric plastic for durability, reduced friction and resistance to water and rot.
The top cutout allows the operator to access the side of the container when the traditional corner pockets on a shipping container may be sunk in the mud or filled with dirt and debris. The wider footprint provides greater stability when moving side to side and front to back. The beefier design will also hold up better to heavier container loads.
